The document structure in LaTeX can be individually styled, the same data structure can be displayed in different formats, with different design. It allows you to solve a lot of issues with pagination, table of contents, typography, word wrap, footnotes, tables, cross-references, illustrations, etc. Therefore, we use LaTeX as an intermediate format.
